Service Description

Service Description:
SAFE BASE is our provision for young people who have experienced secondary school/college negatively, and as a result do not attend. Some of these young people will have had experiences of being bullied, some will have difficulties with their mental health, and some will have had a late diagnosis of Asperger's.

We aim to enable the young person to build up their attendance at our base which could possibly act as a bridge back into mainstream school/college, or equally, our provision could simply exist as a provision in its own right.

SAFE BASE can be highly individualised, as there is a strong focus on the passions and interests of the young people who attend as a starting point for project-based work. at present this includes: animals (we have a pets corner!), electronics, art, creative writing, music business, photography, film, music, animations and computers.

We accept referrals from mental health and educational professionals as well as parents who are home educating.

Due to the trauma that some of our young people have experienced, and in keeping with the aims for this provision, we cannot accept referrals for young people who present disruptive and/or aggressive behaviour.

The cost is £300 per term per person for a block of 10 sessions – with the first session being a free taster.
If a placement is arranged mid-term, then the costs are calculated at the rate of £30 per session minus the free taster session. Invoicing can be on a monthly or termly basis. Please note – payment is charged for places booked rather than attended.
