Service Description:
The Maternal Mental Health Service (MMHS) is a specialist psychological therapies service, that aims to support women experiencing moderate -severe mental health difficulties resulting from trauma and loss within their reproductive, maternity or neonatal journey.

If you are struggling or need support with your mental health please speak to your healthcare professional who will make the appropriate referral.

This service is available to women who are registered with a GP Practice in Hull, East Riding, North and North East Lincolnshire, North Yorkshire and York who have experienced any of the following events:

Three or more consecutive miscarriages
Ectopic pregnancy
Stillbirth
Miscarriage between 14 and 24 weeks of pregnancy
Pregnancies referred to Foetal Medicine where the pregnancy is not expected to continue
Medical termination of pregnancy
Neonatal death (within the first year of life)
Unsuccessful IVF treatment leading to significant psychological distress
Primary tokophobia (intense fear of pregnancy or childbirth) in women not currently pregnant
