| Service Description: | What happens in the first few years of a child’s life can shape their whole life. The Healthy Child Service (HCS) delivers information, advice and support for children and parents of children aged 0- to 19-years-old. Your Healthy Child Service team consists of: Health Visitors School nurses Children and Young People Health Outreach Nurses Child Health and Development Workers Healthy Child Screening and Support Officers The service also delivers the following workshops to support you in your parenting journey:
HENRY healthy families programme: This is a fun and friendly group based programme for parents of children 0-5. You will meet other parents once a week for 8 weeks while your child is safe and happy with registered child care providers on site (no charge for child care). At the end of the programme you will have more belief in your capability as a parent and have more confidence in healthy family eating and physical activity.
Next steps for you and baby workshop 4months: A friendly workshop with other parents and their babies. Topics including sleep, weaning readiness, oral health, accident prevention, baby brain development and taking care of yourself.
Sleep: Individualised support at home to help understand the challenges you are experiencing with your child''s sleep and providing some strategies that can support your child to sleep well.
Toilet training (2 - 5 year olds): Individualised support at home to identify strategies that may help your child to master toilet training. |
