| Service Description: | Hi there, I'm Laura, a qualified teacher with 14 years experience teaching all ages from nursery right up to year 6. I love teaching but, with 5 children of my own, I made a family-friendly change at the end of 2024 and set up as a childminder.
Wildflowers Childminding is a gentle and nurturing setting where we spend lots of time playing and lots of time outdoors. You might find us in the mud kitchen, or on the obstacle course or swings, exploring in our nature area, picking fruit and vegetables from the veggie patch, or playing in the wooden house or on the pirate ship which has upper and lower decks complete with Jolly Roger flag! There''s also a mini football pitch to play on, a basketball area, a large driveway for scooting and riding bikes and a beautiful 100 year old magnolia tree as the backdrop to it all.
All the food served is vegetarian and home-cooked. With a focus on seasonal fruits and vegetables (home grown where possible). Snacks are baked at home and ultra processed foods are avoided! Children help prepare the food and with the baking.
I offer a mixture of toys, some wooden - including Grimms, Grapat, Plan Toys and Glückskäfer to name a few. But we also have some popular plastic toys too all of which are regularly rotated to keep things interesting!
We have lots of easels which are set up each day for the children to paint and draw on. We have daily singing and story-telling and often the children are encouraged to retell stories using puppets or pictures to help them. We also have a Maths area and counting is incorporated into our games, songs and stories. The art area is always well stocked and children can access the materials freely. We go on outings to the library, playgroups and local parks as well as National Trust properties.
I generally offer: 8:00-14:45 or 8:00-16:30. However, I can be flexible with start and finish times. I charge £7 an hour and accept funded hours. I can offer pick-up or drop-off from OLQM school. I do have some later finishes but please message directly for these as availability is low. I can offer after-school care.
